Spondylitis is an inflammation of the vertebrae – the small bones forming your spine. It mostly affects the neck (cervical spondylitis) and lower back (lumbar spondylitis). This condition leads to chronic pain, stiffness, and reduced flexibility, making even basic daily tasks difficult.

There are different types:

  • Cervical Spondylitis – Neck pain, radiating to shoulders, arms
  • Lumbar Spondylitis – Lower back pain, can go down to legs
  • Ankylosing Spondylitis – Autoimmune type, affecting spine and sacroiliac joints

📚 Ayurveda Mein Spondylitis – Samajhne Layak Point🌿

Ayurveda mein ise hum ‘Griva Sandhigata Vata’ (neck) aur ‘Kati Vata’ (lower back) ke roop mein jaante hain.
Ye Vata dosha ka prakop hota hai jisme joints sookh jaate hain, lubrication kam ho jaata hai, aur phir dard, sujan aur rigidity hone lagti hai.

1. Cervical Spondylitis (Neck Dard)

Morning mein gardan tight

Headache jo gardan se start hota hai

Haath ya ungliyon mein jhanjhanahat

Dard jhukne ya uthne par badhta hai


2. Lumbar Spondylitis (Back Dard)

Kamar ka pain baithne ke baad

Chalne mein dikkat

Pair tak dard ya numbness

Kamar jukana mushkil


3. Ankylosing Spondylitis

Spine stiff ho jaati hai

Morning mein jyada pain

Joints shrink hone lagte hain

Kahi cases mein aankh mein sujan (uveitis) bhi

Real case :

Mere ek friend ko hamesha gardan mein dard rehta tha, especially subah uthte waqt. 

Jab checkup hua toh cervical spondylitis nikla.

 Yeh problem mein gardan ki haddiyan aur unke beech ke discs affect ho jaate hain. 

Isi wajah se nerves dab jaati hain aur dard haath tak jaata hai.

Aajkal ka sedentary lifestyle – laptop, mobile, office chair – yeh sab gardan aur kamar ke liye bohot harmful hote hain. 

Spine support na milne par, disc ke andar ka gel nikal jaata hai aur nerve pe pressure dalta hai. Isse chronic pain ban jaata hai.


💬 My Experience (Personal Tone)

Mera ek dost IT field mein kaam karta hai. Har waqt laptop ke saamne jhukkar baithna uski aadat ban gayi thi. 

Pehle usne ignore kiya, lekin dheere-dheere usse gardan mein stiffness aur dard hone laga. 

Subah uthne mein problem hoti thi, neck rotate nahi kar paata tha. 

Jab Ayurveda try kiya, to usne Abhyanga (oil massage), Rasna Churna, Shallaki tablets lena start kiya aur apni lifestyle change ki. 2–3 mahine mein usko visible relief mila.

Evening:

  • Herbal tea: Dashmool / Rasna
  • Early dinner + warm milk

Before Sleep:

  • Gentle neck/back stretches
